Global Warming: Scientists began searching for the cause of global warming in the last century.

What is climate change?
Weather is the short-term average temperature and an average rainfall of a place.
Climate is the specific trend of climate change in a place. Climate is the average weather condition of a place for many years.
Climate is generally called the average weather for more than 30-40 years. Due to its natural location and climate, Bangladesh is at risk of various natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, and earthquakes.
The world’s climate is changing for various reasons. One of the reasons for this is man-made pollution, such as industrial fumes and vehicle fumes.
As a result, global temperatures are rising. As the temperature rises, the ice is melting on one side and the reservoir is drying up on the other. The result is damage to the environment.
What is happening to the effects of climate change-
- The average temperature is rising.
- Being overcast or non-rainy.
- The incidence of cyclones is increasing.
- Terrible floods are happening again and again.
- Increased salinity of soil is causing loss of agricultural land.
- Plants and various animals are being destroyed.
- Groundwater levels are falling.
Extreme levels of climate change increase the likelihood of natural disasters.
It is thought that some areas could be submerged by 2050 due to climate change. This could lead to catastrophic losses in food production, housing, health, and employment.
Therefore, various ministries of the government, world organizations, especially the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief are working to address the risk of this disaster.
Is global warming just part of a natural cycle?
Climate change skeptics believe that carbon dioxide emissions from human activities are not responsible for climate change. What is the real reason?
In the history of about four hundred and fifty million years, the earth has been sometimes lighter, sometimes warmer
The earth was much warmer when its position came closer to the sun as it revolved around the sun.
And when the distance between the sun and the earth was greater, the earth was relatively cold
Here are some research facts to answer the question posed in the title:
- In 1998, researchers from two US universities published a research report considering the average annual temperature for a thousand years. It shows that although the temperature has not changed much for hundreds of years, it has increased a lot in the twentieth century
- Then, in 2013, a study published in the journal Science used data from 11,000 years. Almost the same results are found there. This means that after the last ice age, the Earth has warmed faster than at any time in the last century. According to the study, the Earth has been close to the Sun for the past two thousand years. But the cold was not understood due to the unexpectedly high temperature.
According to the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Global Climate 2020 report, last year’s average temperature was 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than in pre-industrial times (1850-1900, when fossil fuels were not widely used).
The report says that the increase in the number of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere due to human activities is one of the major causes of climate change.
The United Nations Climate Change Organization (IPCC) stated in 2001 that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was 260 ppm (parts per million) for thousands of years before the beginning of the industrial age.
In 1999, it increased to 367 ppm And last May it rose to 415 ppm – the last time carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was so high was about 3 million years ago.
At that time the temperature of the seawater was about 30 meters higher and modern human civilization did not exist at that time.
A report was published in 2013 reviewing the summaries of about 12,000 studies published on climate change from 1991 to 2011.
Scientists from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada reviewed the study
According to their report, 32.7% of the 12,000 studies support the idea that people are responsible for climate change.
66.4 percent of the research did not comment on this idea And in less than 1% of studies, the idea is rejected
Analyzing 11,602 research articles on climate change published in the first seven months of 2019, 100% of scientists agree that humans are responsible for global warming.
NASA climate scientist Benjamin Cook says that when scientists began searching for the causes of global warming in the late twentieth century, they kept in mind four possible causes – greenhouse gases, solar energy, ocean circulation, and volcanic activity.
“Greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and industrialization are the only ones that have hinted at the kind of global warming we are seeing now,” Benjamin Cook told Deutsche Welle.
He says scientists are as confident about the people responsible for climate change as they are about gravity theory.
